Who QuickBooks Pro is for
If you run a small business with one to three people touching the books, Pro is usually the right call. We see it most with service businesses, consultants, small shops, cleaning and landscaping companies, freelancers who have outgrown spreadsheets, and family businesses where the owner and a bookkeeper share the work.
Pro does the everyday accounting really well. Where it starts to feel tight is when you need industry-specific reports, sales orders, or more than three people working in the file at once. That's when we'd point you toward Premier or Enterprise instead, and we'll tell you so if that's the case.
Why people still buy the 2021 version
Intuit has moved new customers toward subscriptions. QuickBooks Pro Plus is billed every year, and if you stop paying, you lose access to the software. A lot of our customers don't want that. They want to buy the software, install it, and stop thinking about it.
Pro 2021 is a one-time purchase. Once the license is activated it's yours, and your company file stays on your computer rather than on someone else's server. For a business that does its books the same way every month, that's often all that matters.
It's only fair to mention the other side too. Intuit has retired the connected add-on services for the 2021 versions, such as online banking downloads, payroll and payment processing inside QuickBooks. The accounting itself keeps working normally: you can still import bank statements, enter transactions, reconcile and run every report. If you need payroll or live bank feeds built in, the yearly Pro Plus subscription is the better choice, and we sell that too.

Intuit no longer sells QuickBooks Desktop Pro to new customers in the US, so the licenses we have are remaining stock. When they're gone, we can't get more. We're not saying this to rush you. It's simply how it is, and we'd rather you hear it from us than find out after the fact.

Do I have to pay every year for QuickBooks Pro 2021?

How many people can use QuickBooks Pro?
Up to three people can work in the same company file at the same time, each with their own license. Add users on the product page when you order. If you need more than three, look at Premier (up to 5) or Enterprise (up to 40).
Will Pro 2021 run on Windows 11?
Yes, QuickBooks Desktop Pro 2021 installs and runs on Windows 10 and Windows 11. It doesn't run on a Mac; for that you'd want QuickBooks Mac.
Can I open my old QuickBooks company file?
In most cases, yes. Pro 2021 will update a company file from an older Pro or Premier version. Make a backup first, and call us if you'd like us to walk you through it.
